I wonder if these were meant to be viewed from a promontory located at a distance below the figures’ feet. Not quite an aerial view, but a view in which some of the excessively long lines will be fore-shortened to make figures appear normally proportionate. Are there any such promontories from which the figures can be viewed?

We will never know what the ancients meant by the intaglios, but my hope is they were meant to keep the universe going. Like without them in the Colorado Desert, the world would end.
